Frequently Asked Questions

The Baia is a retro-inspired wayfarer-style sunglass from Sunski, a California-based eyewear company focused on sustainably produced, lifestyle-first frames. The Baia has a classic rectangular silhouette that leans slightly oversized, making it a flattering all-purpose frame for outdoor recreation, travel, and everyday wear.

The Baia is a wayfarer-style frame with a slightly wider, more relaxed silhouette than a standard wayfarer. It looks clean and straightforward on most face shapes. The construction uses Sunski's recycled polycarbonate frame material — lighter and more durable than many frames at this price point.

The Baia uses Sunski's polarized lenses, which eliminate glare from reflective surfaces like water, snow, and roads. This matters more than people often think — on mountain days, on the water, or driving into direct sun, polarization dramatically reduces eye fatigue. The lenses are UV400 rated for full UVA and UVB protection.

Yes. Sunski builds for active outdoor use. The lightweight polycarbonate frame is impact-resistant, and the hinges are flexible enough to handle the daily drops and shoves that come with keeping glasses in a bag or on an active life.

Sunski frames are made from recycled polycarbonate, which reduces dependence on virgin plastics. The brand also operates a recycling program for old frames. For people who want performance sunglasses without the environmental footprint of conventional eyewear production, Sunski is a straightforward choice.

The wayfarer silhouette is one of the most universally flattering shapes. The Baia's slightly wider frame works well for oval, heart, and square face shapes. If you typically find wayfarers flattering, the Baia will likely work.

The Baia is a wayfarer shape — rectangular with more structure. The Estero is a semi-rimless, slightly sporty frame with a different energy. If you want something clean and classic, the Baia is the call. If you want something with a lighter, more athletic feel, the Estero leans that way.

Sunski sunglasses come with a soft bag that doubles as a lens cleaning cloth — handy for keeping the lenses scratch-free when they're not on your face.

The Baia is a lifestyle frame, not a ski-specific goggle or wraparound performance sunglass. For low-intensity mountain activities, bluebird days, or driving to the hill, they work well. For active ski days where wind and impact protection matter, a dedicated ski goggle or wraparound sports sunglass is the right tool.

Polarized lenses, sustainable materials, impact-resistant construction, a lifetime warranty on every frame, and UV400 protection at a price point that doesn't require second thoughts about wearing them daily. Cheaper frames often sacrifice lens quality, which is where the difference actually shows — especially outdoors in Colorado where sun and glare are constants.
