Frequently Asked Questions

It's a men's long-sleeve base layer from Craft designed for high-output cold-weather training. The Active Intensity series sits in Craft's lineup as a performance base layer for running, cycling, and cross-country skiing in cold conditions — built for people who train hard outside in winter and need moisture management as much as warmth.

CN is crew neck, LS is long sleeve. The crew neck construction provides a clean, close-fitting neckline without the bulk or complication of a zipper.

Craft uses a technical polyester construction in the Active Intensity series — designed for high wicking efficiency and fast drying. The fabric moves sweat away from the skin quickly and dries during active use, which prevents the clammy feeling that kills performance in cold weather.

High-intensity to moderate outdoor training in cold conditions. It's calibrated for the kind of heat output that comes from running, cycling, or ski touring rather than casual walking or static warmth. In those high-output conditions, it manages moisture efficiently and maintains comfort across a range of temperatures.

Close-fitting, as a base layer should be. The compression-adjacent fit keeps the fabric in contact with the skin for optimal moisture transfer. It's not uncomfortably tight — just snug in the functional way that makes base layers work.

Use it as the first layer in a cold-weather system. A mid-layer (like a fleece or power grid crew) goes on top for insulation, with a shell added for wind and precipitation protection when needed. The slim construction doesn't add bulk under additional layers.

Yes. Craft's heritage in cross-country skiing makes the Active Intensity a natural fit for ski touring, Nordic, and uphill mountain activities. The moisture management performance under sustained aerobic load is exactly what those activities demand.

Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Avoid fabric softeners. Technical polyester base layers benefit from cold washing to maintain moisture-wicking properties over time.

The technical construction manages moisture effectively, which is the primary cause of odor in performance base layers. Craft's fabrics don't typically include added antimicrobial treatments — moisture management is the main defense.

Serious cold-weather athletes — trail runners, cyclists, ski tourers, and Nordic skiers — who train hard in winter and need a base layer that keeps pace with their output. It's not a casual winter layer; it's a working piece for people who push hard in the cold.
