Frequently Asked Questions

It's a men's waterproof running and trail jacket from Craft, a Swedish performance brand with deep roots in cross-country skiing and running. The Pro Hydro Jacket 3 is built for wet conditions — specifically for runners and cyclists who need reliable waterproof protection without the weight or bulk that compromises movement.

Yes. The Pro Hydro series uses Craft's waterproof and breathable construction with taped seams for full protection in rain. This isn't a water-resistant shower jacket — it's built for sustained rain exposure during active use.

Very. Craft designs the Pro Hydro for athletes in motion, which means breathability is a priority alongside waterproofing. The construction uses a technical membrane that allows sweat vapor to escape while blocking water from entering — the core challenge of waterproof athletic outerwear. For running pace efforts in the rain, it handles the balance well.

The Pro Hydro Jacket 3 is packable into its own pocket or a very small stuff bag. For trail runners and cyclists who need to carry protection without committing to the weight of a full shell, the packability is one of its key advantages.

Expect fully taped seams, adjustable hood, zippered pockets, and reflective details for low-light conditions. Craft's running-specific construction typically includes stretch panels for freedom of movement and a clean, athletic silhouette that doesn't interfere with stride or cadence.

Wet trail runs, rainy cycling, mountain conditions with unpredictable precipitation, and any active use where waterproof protection is a hard requirement. It's not a mountaineering shell for extreme conditions — it's a performance jacket for real-world athletic use in variable weather.

The Pro Hydro is cut for athletic layering — trim enough to not be baggy, but with enough room to wear a light mid-layer underneath when temperatures demand it. The technical construction gives it clean movement regardless of what's underneath.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry low — low heat actually helps refresh the DWR coating on the outer face fabric. Avoid fabric softeners, which coat the fibers and reduce breathability and water repellency over time.

Craft has strong credibility in endurance sports — particularly cycling and cross-country skiing — where waterproof performance under load is a non-negotiable. The Pro Hydro reflects that technical background. It's a genuine performance waterproof, not a lifestyle jacket masquerading as one.

Absolutely. Colorado's afternoon storm pattern makes reliable rain protection essential for any serious trail runner. The combination of packability, waterproofing, and breathability makes the Pro Hydro a practical choice for summer and shoulder-season mountain running where getting caught in a storm is a matter of when, not if.
