Frequently Asked Questions

The Cadi is Nnormal's most accessible trail running shoe — built for everyday trail miles, long comfortable runs, and smooth to rolling terrain. Nnormal is a brand co-founded by trail running legend Kilian Jornet, and the Cadi represents their most inclusive entry point: generous cushioning, a wider fit, Vibram® Megagrip traction, and the durability the brand is known for.

Smooth to rolling trail terrain. This isn't a technical vertical scramble shoe — it's built for moderate trails, gravel, packed dirt, and mixed surfaces where comfort over distance is the priority. From door-to-trail use to ultra-distance comfort runs, the Cadi covers it well.

The Cadi runs 35mm in the heel and 29mm in the forefoot, giving a 6mm drop. That's generous cushioning for protection on longer outings, with a drop that supports an efficient stride across a range of running styles.

Vibram® Megagrip with 4mm lugs tuned for moderate terrain. Megagrip is one of the most reliable outsole compounds in trail running — consistent traction on both dry and wet surfaces. The 4mm lug depth is appropriate for non-technical trails without feeling overly aggressive on hard surfaces.

The Cadi is built on an adapted Kjerag last with a wider toe box, allowing natural toe splay during long runs when feet swell. The women's specific version has been refined for female foot anatomy — narrower heel, lower instep, and reduced overall volume — based on input from Nnormal athletes Emelie Forsberg and Joyce Njeru.

Yes. Nnormal describes the Cadi as their most approachable trail shoe, and the design reflects that. The generous cushioning forgives footstrike errors, the stable platform builds confidence on trail, and the fit accommodates a wide range of foot types. It's a strong first trail shoe for anyone transitioning from road running.

The Kjerag is a more technical, lighter shoe for experienced runners in demanding conditions. The Cadi is more cushioned, more comfortable for long distances, and better suited for moderate terrain. They complement each other in the Nnormal lineup.

Approximately 270g for the women's version — a well-balanced weight for a maximally cushioned trail shoe that doesn't sacrifice too much on lightness.

Yes. The generous cushioning, wider toe box for foot swell, and Vibram® Megagrip traction make it a practical choice for ultra-distance trail events on non-technical terrain. The durability of Nnormal's construction — a core brand value — means it holds up through high-mileage training blocks.

Nnormal recommends ordering your standard shoe size. The wider last and toe box mean most people don't need to size up, even for long runs where feet swell. If you have particularly wide feet, staying true to size remains the recommendation — the Cadi accommodates naturally.
